Leonhard Baumgartner

Leonhard Baumgartner, born 2007 in Vienna, is studying with Dora Schwarzberg at the University for Music and Performing Arts Vienna.
Studies led him also to Universities for Music Graz and Munich with Regina Brandstätter since 2019, and Ingolf Turban, with whom he is studying since 2022.
Leo is a major prizewinner. Latest news are he will represent Austria after winning the national audition, at Final of Eurovision Young Musicians in Norway.
In June 2022 Leo won Wiener Symphoniker Talent Award and debuted as soloist with the Wiener Symphoniker (Vienna Symphony Orchestra-WSY) at Konzerthaus Vienna. In season 2023/24 he returns thereat Jeunesse Concert Series, and in 2024/25 in the cycle Musica Juventutis and as soloist with Wiener Kammerorchester.
Second Prize at Il Piccolo Violino Magico 2021. 2022 First Prize at renowned Zhuhai International Mozart Competition. Discovery Award of International Classical Music Awards 2023, debut as soloist with the NFM Philharmonic Orchestra Wrozlaw at ICMA gala.
In July 2023 debut with Philharmonie Baden-Baden, with R. Schumann/F. Kreisler, fantasy op.131. At the Carl-Flesch-Academy in July 2023 Leo won the Carl-Flesch-Prize.
London Young Musician of the Year 2023 in violin. Scholarof Internationale Musikakademie Liechtenstein.
At Kronberg, Leo is invited to „Chamber Music Connects the World“ in May2024, Leo performs with Gidon Kremer.

Heilbronn, Philharmonie Baden-Baden, NFM Philharmonic Wrozlaw, Sinfonieorchester Liechtenstein and others.
Leo plays a precious violin by J.B. Vuillaume, Paris 1854, on generous loan by a member of Stretton Society.
